TransCanada has answered every question and every concern thrown at it by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality about a new proposed route for the Keystone XL oil pipeline. NDEQ has released its Draft Evaluation Report, detailing TransCanada's willingness to craft a route around the Sandhills, while meeting extensive safety conditions including shut-off valves every 20 miles of the 875 mile pipeline through Nebraska and a $200 million dollar insurance policy in case there's a leak. John Hansen of the Nebraska Farmer's Union told our television partner 10/11 NEWS that TransCanada's proposed route still passes through some very sandy soil. A public hearing on TransCanada's new proposed Keystone XL route is planned for December 4th in Albion. Governor Heineman gets a final report in January.
