Novartis Plant Still Not Opening

Closed for nearly all of 2012, Lincoln's Novartis plant is still not ready to reopen. BusinessWeek has reported that Novartis CEO Joe Jimenez said it's taking longer than expected to recover from a situation where stray tablets, capsules and caplets from other products and broken or chipped tablets of Excedrin, NoDoz, Buffering and Gas-X were found in shipments. The Lincoln plant accounts for 25% of Novartis' sales of over-the-counter products. Every day it is closed costs the Switzerland-based company more money. Novartis consumer health sales plunged 22% in the 3rd quarter.
