Deer Vs Vehicle Crashes Increase



The number of traffic accidents involving deer in Lancaster County is up 7% from a year ago. On KFOR's Lincoln Live, Sheriff Terry Wagner said there have been 234 deer/vehicle accidents so far this year, 15 more than a year ago. Statewide, your chances of hitting a deer are 1 in 106, the 12th highest in the country. For the 6th year in a row, West Virginia tops the list; the chances of hitting a deer there is 1 in 40. State Farm data shows the average property damage caused by a deer crash is more than $3,300.
