Officials Plan Prescribed Burns at Indian Cave State Park

Even with the drought, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission scheduled prescribed burns at Indian Cave State Park, which is on the Missouri River in southeast Nebraska, east of Shubert. The burns will be held between Oct. 29 and Dec. 31. The commission says the fires are meant to improve woodland habitat and help control the spread of invasive plants. Park trails and roads will be marked with appropriate signs and closed during the blazes.
