The strong winds that have raked across Nebraska will soon go away. Jim Meyer, meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Valley, told KFOR News that the deep low pressure system that brought strong winds to our area is expected to move out to Lake Michigan by lunch time. Wind gusts at the Lincoln Airport yesterday (Thursday) reached as high as 56 mph. Gusts were higher in places such as Albion, Columbus, Tekamah and Omaha's Eppley Airfield. The forecast for the weekend looks nice with temperatures rebounding into the 60s and 70s.
