State Sen. Brenda Council says Ernie Chambers is focusing on old news about her false campaign reports. The two are facing each other for the legislative seat held Chambers until four years ago. Council recently pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges of abusing public records, after she used campaign contributions to gamble at a casino. Chambers has filed a complaint with the U.S. Attorney's office in Omaha, claiming Council got off too lightly. Council said at a news conference that Chambers "dwells on an issue that has been settled.”
