Lincoln Sees Homeless Numbers Increase

The number of homeless people in Lincoln and Lancaster County is going up. The University of Nebraska's Center on Children, Families and the Law found that on January 25th of this year, there were nearly 1,000 homeless people counted in a 24-hour period; the highest the survey has ever seen. Pastor Tom Barber of the People's City Mission told our television partner, 10/11 NEWS, that over a period of time he suspects the number of homeless to be several thousand. The Center's annual report supports that claim as it identifies almost 3,600 homeless people over the course of one year.
