Lancaster County Deputies arrested two people for allegedly cutting a hole into a chain-link fence and trying to steal more than $600 worth of copper wiring from an LES substation just outside of Lincoln. Sheriff Terry Wagner said the alarm went off around 11:30 last night (Monday) at the substation near 134th and Adams. Wagner reported that a one by three-foot hole had been cut into the fence and a large amount of copper wiring was found. 31-year-old Thomas Stefkovich and 23-year-old Christal Hiles, both of Lincoln, were arrested and put in jail for theft. Both were also cited for trespassing. Wagner says the fence sustained $500 damage.
