A 21-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 65 to 100 years in prison for his role in the death of a landlord whose body was found near an abandoned house in 2010. Gary Lee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case last fall and agreed to testify against his sister. Monique Lee's first trial was a mistrial after Gary Lee tried to take sole credit for killing Karen Jenkins. But the two were eventually convicted of killing Jenkins in October 2010. Prosecutors say Jenkins had served eviction papers to Monique Lee. Gary Lee pretended he wanted to rent an apartment from Jenkins, and when Jenkins came over, Monique Lee hit her in the head and strangled her while Gary held her down.
