Republican Senate Candidate Deb Fischer said today she is in favor of a federal balanced budget amendment, but admitted achieving a balanced budget will take time. Fischer said achieving a balanced budget and elmiinating the $16 trillion national debt will require more than budget cuts. One of her goals is to eliminate the new affordable care act, predicting it will cost rather than save money. Fischer said she would also like to see the Bush Era tax cuts made permanent, a 15 percent reduction in the federal workforce, and reforms to reduce the cost of social security and medicare.
