Nebraska state Sen. John Wightman has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke at his home in Lexington Sunday afternoon. He was taken to a Lincoln hospital for treatment and evaluation. Wightman staffer Jessica Shelburn says she has no information about when the senator might return home or resume his duties. Wightman, a Lexington attorney, heads the Legislature's Executive Board of the Legislative Council and holds a seat on the Appropriations Committee. He is not up for election this November.
