Extremely dry and windy conditions fueled a grass fire in north Lincoln Monday evening east of Oak Lake Park along I-180 and Salt Creek. The fire started shortly after 6pm and was contained by 7pm. Rural fire departments were called in to help with the grass fire due to the terrain of the Salt Creek bed. Initial observations showed the fire was contained within the creek bed and did not reach any structures in the area. Hot, dry, and windy conditions are anticipated Tuesday and a Red Flag Warning remains in effect through Tuesday evening.
