The consequences of their bad behavior have been steep for the Penn State students who rioted in the chaotic aftermath of Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno's firing last November.
Penn State has punished 32 students with sanctions ranging from three-semester suspensions to probation.
About half of them will be in class when the fall semester starts Monday - including one student, Justin Strine, whose promising career as an Army officer is over before it began.
Strine and dozens of others were slapped with criminal charges after the Nov. 9 riot in State College, and the guilty pleas have piled up over the last several months.
Several students who tipped over a news van earned 30-day jail sentences and must pay thousands of dollars in fines and restitution.
