Nebraska Republican Senate hopeful, Deb Fischer, was supposed to be among featured speakers at today's opening of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, but Tropical Storm Isaac has changed that. The convention will start tomorrow (Tuesday), so we're not sure how or if that will wipe Fischer's appearance from the schedule. Other speakers have given up their time slots. Fischer is a popular Republican right now, seen by her party as the best hope to swing a Senate seat from Democratic to Republican this year. Fischer heads to Tampa having just debated her Democratic Senate opponent, Bob Kerrey, in Grand Island at the Nebraska State Fair.
