A family of three escapes harm after a fire started just before 8 p.m. Monday in the attic of their home at 6310 Leighton Avenue. Fire Captain Rick Schneider tells KFOR News at the scene one of the residents noticed light smoke coming from the ceiling in the living room. When firefighters arrived, they could see light smoke in the attic and smoldering insulation. The fire was under control within 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
