Governor Opposed To Health Care Act

LINCOLN -- In a letter to Nebraska lawmakers, Governor Heineman on Wednesday reiterated his concern of extending Medicaid coverage under President Obama's Affordable Care Act as an unfunded federal mandate. Nebraska U.S. Democratic Senator Ben Nelson says if Governor Heineman has his say, your premium and the premiums of everyone with health insurance would still increase. The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling last month required states to create health benefit exchanges to help insure more people. But the court ruled that the federal government cannot penalize states that opt out of a Medicaid expansion outlined in the federal health care law.
