A 27-year-old Lincoln man is accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old in the past month. Jay Gilmore called the Nebraska State Patrol early Wednesday, claiming he had been sexually assaulting the girl. Lincoln Police then picked up the call and went to Gilmore's home. Officer Katie Flood says Gilmore is in jail on suspicion of third-degree sexual assault of a child. Gilmore is also believed to be suspected in another sexual assault, which may have happened two weeks ago. Last week, Gilmore was sentenced to six years in jail for distributing child pornography.
