Greater Lincoln Obedience Club
AKC AGILITY TRAIL MAY 16TH – 18TH 2008
What do Great Danes and Chihuahuas have in common at an agility trial? Both breeds run the same course with the same obstacles. Small dogs get only five additional seconds to finish.
Dogs of all breeds and sizes will converge on Lincoln May 16–18 (Friday – Sunday) to strut their stuff, demonstrate their skills, and compete for first prize in the Greater Lincoln Obedience Club AKC Spring Agility Trial. The event will be held at Nebraska State Fair Park, Youth Arena Complex. Trial hours are Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is no admission fee for spectators. An Agility course consists of jumps, tunnels, weave poles, dog walk, A - Frame, teeter-totter, and table. Dogs runs off-leash directed only by the handler’s voice and body signals. Come on out and watch the fun!

Reading the Christian Mystics
First-Plymouth Church will be offering the upcoming class, “Reading the Christian Mystics” for 3 weeks, Mondays, May 5-19, from 7:00-8:30 PM, at First-Plymouth Church (20th & D St.). Required Text: The Essential Writings of the Christian Mystics, by Bernard McGinn. Immerse yourself in the writings of some of the most well known mystics in Christian history. Led by Kim Beyer-Nelson. Cost: $15 (scholarships available). This cross-cultural program is designed to create a window into the spirit of the divine feminine. We’ll talk about our own experiences with the feminine divine, and explore ways to honor this spirit in our daily lives.
