LINCOLN -- 12 years after it started, the Waverly interchange of Interstate-80 is just about complete. It's expected to be done in the spring, but for now...enjoy new I-80 westbound lanes from Waverly to 56th Street. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is Thursday. Soon, you'll be able to drive 75 miles an hour from Lincoln to Omaha on the $440 million I-80 widening and renovation. Now there's talk of making the interstate 3 lanes in both directions from Lincoln to York. That could cost as much as $7 million a mile.
