Train-Car Collision Near Waverly

A 48-year-old woman involved in a train/car collision on the east side of Waverly late Tuesday afternoon suffered only minor injuries.  Lancaster County Sheriff's Sgt. Tommy Trotter tells KFOR News that Sheila Elliott was crossing the railroad tracks close to her home just east of 148th and Highway 6. Trotter says Elliott was driving down her driveway, which is next to the tracks, and violated a stop sign at the crossing, hitting a westbound train.  Elliott's mini-van was totaled in the crash and she was cited for a traffic violation.  Sgt. Trotter says Elliott was treated at a Lincoln hospital for a shoulder injury.
