So far this year, September has been the deadliest month on Nebraska roads. 29 people were killed; 21 of them in rural areas. Just under half of those killed were not wearing their seat belts. Inexperienced drivers on rural roads have also led to some fatalities. Different than city driving, people tend to drive in the middle of country roads and go too fast. They also caught in loose gravel and lose control of their vehicles.
