Second Suspect Arrested In Murder Investigation

LINCOLN -- Another suspect has been arrested in the random beating deaths of two men this past summer.  On Saturday, police arrested Tyler Thornburg.  According to the probable cause affidavit, a witness told police Thornburg and other men left a party on June 29th, returning out of breath.  Thornburg allegedly said he'd hit someone with a baseball bat.  Thornburg is believed to have had one of the victim's cell phones.  27 year old, David Mueller, was found beaten on a at 14th and Benton, in the same neighborhood at the party Thornburg was at.  Mueller died July 7.  Hours after Mueller's beating, 20 year old Nathan "Shane" Walton was found in the street at 38th and L Streets.  He'd also been beaten and died on July 2.  Also arragined for the killings is 19-year-old Richard McLaughlin III.  Police are investigating possible ties to the True Blue Soldiers gang.
