Raymond Woman Victimized By Phony Sweepstakes Scam

LINCOLN -- A 56-year-old Raymond woman is the victim of a scam that claimed she won money from Publisher's Clearinghouse.   Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says the woman got a phone call Thursday, saying she had won $2-and-a-half million and needed to give $1,000 to receive the winnings on the green dot packs.  Wagner says after she bought the money packs, the woman went back home and waited for sweepstakes reps to show up.  After waiting, she called the number back and found out the rep she talked to wanted more money.   That's when the woman hung up and called authorities.  Wagner says if you win something, it's illegal for you to have to pay money to get your prize and make sure the area code isn't 876.
