Police Investigate Car Larceny, Missing Guns
LINCOLN -- A simple mistake proves to be costly for a man living in the 8900 block of Prairie Village Court. Lincoln Police were called around 10am Friday to the neighborhood southeast of 84th and Adams about a larceny from vehicle. Officer Katie Flood says the victim, who works for GT Distributors as a gun sales rep, got home around 11pm Thursday and left the gun equipment inside his car. He came out the next morning to find his driver's side door open and all the guns missing. Total loss is at $4,100. There were no signs of forced entry and it's believed that the door was unlocked.There is a city ordinance that says you cannot leave your vehicle unlocked for more than 24 hours. In this case, Flood says the door was left unlocked for less than 12 hours. Fingerprints were lifted from the car for analysis to see if they can track down a suspect.
