Ongoing Renovation Hurting P Street Businesses

The portion of P Street renovation in front of The Grand Theater should have been done months ago. Some businesses, like shoe store Footloose and Fancy, have seen it impact their sales. On KFOR's Coby Mach Show on Tuesday, Footloose and Fancy co-owner Jane Stricker said their business is down 40%.  Stricker said her husband met with Public Works to find out when this project could be done--according to them it will be done in June. The project started in October and was said to be done within seven weeks.  Stricker says new concrete was poured in front of the store last week, a sign that things are moving along.  Urban Development director Dave Landis said last week much of the delay has been weather-related...concrete can't be poured when it's bitterly cold.
