There is no legislative session today in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Lawmakers will be back to work tomorrow (Tuesday) with Thursday being the last day they can introduce new bills. Just over 400 have been introduced so far including Hoskins Senator Dave Bloomfield's bill requiring motorcyclists and moped drivers to wear eye protection while driving on highways. O'Neill Senator Tyson Larson wants to reduce the age of a minor from 19 to 18 and Lincoln Senator Bill Avery would increase the salaries of Nebraska's constitutional officers in 2015. The governor's salary would go up $21,000 to $126,000 a year.
