Nebraska's Voting Machines Proven Well-Working

(7-8-14) A manual recount has verified that Nebraska's voting machines are working properly. The Secretary of State's office randomly picked ballots from 26 precincts in 17 counties for a hand-count.The ballots represented two percent of those cast in the May Primary election. Secretary of State John Gale says the only discrepancy occured in Boyd County, where two absentee ballots, returned just before the deadline, were not run thru the tabulation machine. Gale says the machines are checked before and after elections, and he's confident they're counting ballots accurately.
