NPPD Workers Return After Cleaning Up in West Virginia, New Jersey

Sixteen Line technicians from Nebraska Public Power District are returning from the east coast after two weeks of helping electric utilities in West Virginia and New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy.  The NPPD crew was released from Jersey Central Power & Light Sunday evening.  They initially worked in West Virginia, then moved to New Jersey – where they worked 16-hour days helping restore power lines knocked down in the storm.  The NPPD workmen said the restoration work was well organized, and the biggest problem was getting enough fuel to keep their trucks running during the workdays.
