Most rural Nebraskans support building the Keystone XL oil pipeline, but ONLY if it avoids the environmentally sensitive Sandhills and Ogallala Aquifer. The University of Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources asked more than 6,000 Nebraskans and found 65% of respondents support an alternative pipeline route. 13% believe the pipeline should not be built at all. About half of respondents believe the government should be involved in where the pipeline should be built. 3/4 say it should be STATE government, not FEDERAL government.
