The man who couldn't beat Barack Obama 4 years ago hopes to influence enough Nebraska voters for Deb Fischer to beat Bob Kerrey in the state's high-profile U.S. Senate race. Arizona Senator John McCain is in Omaha today (Friday) campaigning for Fischer, who's on a 2-day, 12 community tour around the state, drumming up support during the final weekend before Election Day. Kerrey isn't without his "big endorsement" either. Former Nebraska U.S. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel is supporting Kerrey. Hagel's endorsement could boost Kerrey’s argument that he would cross party lines if elected, and endear him to undecided voters who are starting to pay attention in the race’s final week.
