LINCOLN -- The 16-year-old girl suspected in an attack at Lincoln Pius X High School won't fight her return from Kansas. The girl was taken into custody on Tuesday in Woodson County, Kan., by officers responding to a report of someone with car trouble. Authorities say the girl has waived extradition proceedings and is expected to return soon to Nebraska. Lancaster County Court records say the girl is charged as an adult with felony assault and use of a deadly weapon. The Associated Press is not using the girl's name because the AP generally doesn't identify juveniles accused of crimes. The stabbing attack occurred Monday morning inside a bathroom at the school. The victim was identified as 17-year-old Ellen Kopetzky. She's been released from a hospital after surgery for facial wounds.
