The 2012 Nebraska State High School Softball Championships got underway yesterday (Wed.) in Hastings. Southeast in Class A and Pius in Class B are the only Lincoln teams to qualify and both won opening round games yesterday. Southeast edged Papillion LaVista-South 10-9, with each team hitting three home runs. Southeast led 9-2 early in that game and then held off Papio-South to win 10-9. The Knights have hit 33 home runs this season. Southeast will now meet second-seeded Millard South this morning (Thurs.) at 10 a.m.
In Class B, Lincoln Pius shutout Blair 3-0, and will now meet top-seeded Omaha Skutt also this morning (Thurs.) at 10 a.m.
