LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University head women’s basketball coach Eric Jensen has resigned his position as head women’s coach effective immediately, the university announced Thursday (Feb. 14).Jensen has been the head women’s basketball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan for the past five seasons. In each of his first three seasons, Jensen increased the win total from the previous year. His 2010-11 squad finished 11-16, the most wins for NWU in 10 seasons.
This year NWU finished the regular season 3-22 overall. Overall, the Prairie Wolves were 32-97 in five seasons under Jensen.
During his tenure, Jensen had four players eclipse the 1,000-career point plateau (NWU now has 12 in history of program). He coached 14 All-Conference players and under his direction Shea Rasmussen became the first All-American in NWU women’s basketball history in 2012.
A national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
