LINCOLN -- The Nebraska Softball coaching staff has been named the 2013 Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Assocication. It's the third time that Head Coach Rhonda Revelle and her staff received the award. They also won in 1998 and 2002. The Huskers made the Womens College World Series this past season earned them a No. 8 finish in the national rankings. Associate Head coach Lori Sippel, assistant coach Diane Miller and director of softball operations Katie Brown were also honored with this year's award. The Huskers hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time in six seasons in 2013, earned a No. 1 seed in an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2002, advanced to the first NCAA Super Regional in school history and qualified for the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2002. Along the way, Nebraska was one of only four teams to defeat national champion Oklahoma this spring, while the Huskers finished with five victories over top-10 opponents.
