LINCOLN -- From 5.5-inches of snow in Lincoln to 11-inches in Fremont, snow totals are widespread. There are unofficial reports of 7 to 8 inches of snow around Lincoln. Omaha officially has nearly 9-inches. Dave Pearson at the National Weather Service in Valley tells KFOR NEWS they have 8-inches of snow outside their door. Bellevue has 6-inches. Lincoln street crews have been working non-stop since 3am Sunday. They've been clearing snow on the main streets, bus routes and emergency routes. It was a windy day when snow would fall heavy...then stop...then start up again. Those conditions kept plows and material spreaders going non-stop. Lincoln Police were kept busy Sunday. Capt. Michon Morrow tells KFOR NEWS 66 accidents were reported from Midnight Sunday to Midnight Monday. Transportation officials are reporting multiple car accidents along nearly 200 miles of Interstate 80 between Nebraska and Iowa. The State Patrol closed westbound lanes of I-80 Sunday night between Lincoln and Grand Island because there were so many accidents. The interstate has since reopened.
