LINCOLN -- An 18-year-old East High School student is facing school punishment for allegedly having ammunition and explosives on campus. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says an associate principal called Wednesday to let investigators know about a student possibly having a weapon and ammo. The student was pulled out of class, where officials search his backpack and found 50 rounds of ammo, but no weapon. A search of the student's vehicle found more ammunition and homemade explosives. Fire officials are in possession of those explosives to do further investigation. Officer Flood says the school is handling the consequences for the student and no citations have been written, pending the investigation by police.
