A Lincoln Police officer is recovering from injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run crash yesterday (Monday) near 14th and South, while the other driver is in jail. Police spokesperson Katie Flood said Officer Ty Denney was trying to pull over a car driving erratically eastbound on South Street when the car abruptly stopped and his motorcycle ran into the car's rear. Denney flipped over the windshield of the bike and landed on the pavement. Flood said the car then sped off and witnesses couldn't keep up with it. Flood reported that 30-year-old Melissa Bryant was later arrested for leaving the scene of an injury accident, willful reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
