Deer-Car Crash Numbers Down This Year

Compared to last year at the same time, car-deer crashes are down about 19% according to Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner. 331 car deer crashes happened between January 1st, 2011 to November 20, 2011.  During the same time period this year, there have been 278 crashes. Wagner says daylight savings time has a role in the usual spike in car-deer crashes, because of short daylight hours, in addition to deer mating season.
