Cowboys knock off Super Bowl champs in opener

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys waited all year for another shot at the New York Giants. When they got it in the 2012 season opener, they didn't miss.
Tony Romo tossed three touchdown passes and Dallas dominated the Super Bowl champions 24-17 in a victory that wasn't nearly so close.
It won't make up for the New Year's Day loss that cost the Cowboys the NFC East title and sent the Giants on their way to the NFL championship.
In their opening night upset, the Cowboys unveiled a new game-breaker, Kevin Ogletree. He caught two of Tony Romo's three touchdown passes. He caught eight passes for 114 yards. He had 25 receptions for 294 yards and no scores in his career before this game. Miles Austin caught Romo's other TD.
Romo threw for 307 yards and DeMarco Murray supplied the bulk of the Dallas ground game with 129 yards.
