Bob Fitzsimmons has been a resident of the Lincoln community since 1979 and has established himself as a trusted Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional. He is securities licensed through Investacorp, Inc.; a registered broker/dealer, member of FINRA and SIPC.He attributes his decision to better market himself as one key to his success. The primary focus of a CFP® professional is investment, insurance and tax planning, along with risk management. Fitzsimmons interacts with all types of people with various questions concerning their financial planning goals and objectives. Many who seek him out are retired, or about to retire, and are looking for advice on what to do with their finances.
Fitzsimmons doesn’t just give his clients temporary guidance; he looks to build long-term relationships. He believes in creating a comfortable atmosphere where people can feel free to visit with him at anytime of day or evening. Fitzsimmons says it is imperative to understand what is notably different in the lives of his clientele.
Bob claims to be very goal-oriented. Despite the fact that Fitzsimmons is in his 70’s, he says that he is working harder than ever. His focus on achieving his goals keeps him striving for success, not just his own, but for others, as well.
Community involvement is also an important aspect of Fitzsimmons’ life, and plays a huge role in his personal well-being. Bob shared his CFP® professional knowledge for ten years while teaching at Southeast Community College. Fitzsimmons offers seminars on pre-retirement planning, and enjoys reaching out to help others anyway he can. Since 1997, Bob has been involved with the TeamMates program as a mentor and serves on the TeamMates of Lincoln Advisory Board. Bob also teaches elementary classes for Junior Achievement of Lincoln.
Governor Dave Heineman appointed him as a trustee of the Wyuka Cemetery and Funeral Home Board on which he currently serves. In 2005, Bob served as a co-chair of the Lincoln Public Schools Housing Task Force for middle schools assessing the facility needs of 7,000+ middle school students over the next 10 years. Later this year, Bob will become the president of the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln, Ne- Lincoln Center. The list of Bob’s community and professional recognitions is extensive.
